The Association of Hebrew Catholics (AHC) is a voluntary association of Catholics of both Jewish and non-Jewish origin, faithful to the Magisterium and under the patronage of Miriam, Our Lady of the Miracle, and St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein).
The AHC was founded by Elias Friedman, OCD in 1979 to work toward preserving the identity and heritage of Jews who have entered the Catholic Church. Towards this end, the AHC seeks to gather Hebrew Catholics within the Church, to serve the Church and to be a blessing to all peoples, especially to the Jewish people outside the Church. We intend to help the Church prepare for the day when our Lord will gather and unite all peoples to Himself, including "all Israel." For more information, see our web site at http://hebrewcatholic.org
This email message group was established to discuss the various themes and issues of Fr. Friedman's thesis (from his book, "Jewish Identity"), the various pastoral needs of Hebrew Catholics and other matters of related interest. All Catholics are invited to participate in discussions related to the description above.
Except for brief quotations relevant to a post, the inclusion of other people's writing is not allowed without permission.
We strive for a peaceful atmosphere and a respectful exchange of views. We have a zero-tolerance policy for anti-semitism, anti-Judaism, anti-Catholicism, conspiratorial theories, and the like. Those who engage in these things will be immediately banned from the group.
Additionally, this group is not a forum:
- for dissent from the Magisterium
- to proselytize or challenge the faith of Catholics
- for political discussions
- for interfaith disputes
- to promote products, services, causes, or events without permission of the moderator.
May the Lord bless your discussions,
David Moss, Moderator
