Model 19, installing points.   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #337 of 392 |
I installed a new set of points in a Model 19. It is new to me. I noticed that
the movable point used a taper to attach itself to the mechanism that moves it.
I had to push it slightly against its spring so that I could use the eccentric
to adjust the fixed point to .020. It ran fine for about half an hour, then
started running rough and finally wouldn't run at all. First thing, I checked
the point gap which had gotten a lot smaller. I'm hoping that someone can tell
me how to correctly install the movable point so that it stays where it should.
Thanks in advance,
Steve
