What kind of group is this?
AVHS is an inclusive, member driven group of home schooling families.

What do you mean by inclusive and member driven?
By inclusive we mean that we have no requirements that you have a certain homeschooling philosophy or that you belong to a particular religion or church.
Member driven means that all activities/decisions are initiated by a member or members, not by a leader or leaders.

What kind of leadership do you have?
We do not have any leaders who are in charge of the running of the group. We are member initiated. Meaning all activities come from the members. We have a basic philosophy of personal responsibility that keeps us on track and guides our decision

How do I initiate an activity?
Once you've decided what you want to do, gather all the needed info - time, date, location,cost per child/adult, when the money is due and to whom, min/max participants, age limit,open or closed to AVHA members only. Then enter it on the Yahoo! Group calendar and post
information about it.

How do I receive/distribute information about activities etc?
Our primary source of communication is our Yahoo! Group.

What if I'm not on line?
If you cannot get on line to be part of our Yahoo! Group, you can get your information from another AVHS member.

Who do I ask if I have a question about an event?
Any questions about specific activities should be directed to the person hosting the event.
