Mine's a chestnut too! :-) Razkili is a dark liverchestnut with flaxen mane
and tail, on a snow-white base. Painted by Mette Jorgensen of Sweden.
Earned me a Grand Champion-title at the Arab '99-show this year. One of my
favourites.

I have the Arab painted in a loud dappled rose grey by Judy Pope. He
has done very well for me. He has been Mini Breed and finish Champion
several times and went Res.Grand Mini in March .

On the AA website there is a picture of the AA Arabian in grey; almost all
white, just a hint of grey around the knees and on the head.
Is there anyone but me who thinks this horse looks like something out of a
fairytale? To me, this is *exactly* the snow-white Arabian stallion of my
childhood dreams... The one I wanted to ride through the desert next to
Alec and the Black... Or my very own Companion (a breed of Fantasy-horses
from the books of Mercedes Lackey), though with dark eyes. :-D He is *so*
beautiful!
Sigh... Andrew, don't be too surprised if I order one of these as soon as
I've paid for my Hackney...
Anne-Li
I can only really be helpful when it comes to the minis (stablemate sized). I
have had almost all of them at one point or another (except for the very new
ones).
The only larger figure that I have is the Limited Ed REARING WELSH. I have a
small 1 Bedroom apartment (flat) and thus do not have a lot of space for
displaying my equine collection.
I wonder will we ever see the Stablemate (mini) size horse figurines done in
the china, or is it too cost prohibitive?

You mean no one else has this fantastic guy?! I find that so hard to
believe. I absolutely love mine! I had Tom B paint him a dappled bay with
star/stripe and socks. I haven't been to a live show in years but he does
very well in photo shows. You guys need to do something similar with an
Andalusian!! hint....hint.....

I have almost completed my collection of AA minis. The only one I'm lacking
is the 1999 Show Special, though I hope to be able to buy this one shortly.
Then I'll have to start on the big ones, I guess. :-)
My personal favourite among my minis is Debutant's Contribution, my
Saddlebred mare, painted to a golden chestnut tobiano with flaxen mane and
tail by the very talented Swedish artist Camilla Johansson. Then come my
club Friesians, Blair and Jim, and my rearing shire (the first AA I ever
bought), Caladesi Ashkevron, a bay OF.
Anne-Li
I have several of the minis.
The Welsh Section C in bright chestnut (almost palomino) tobiano pinto by
Sheri Rhodes. I show him as a Welsh Pony/Chincoteague pony cross.
Everyone is always after this guy!!
The Lippizan in fleabitten grey by Judy Renee Pope.
The "club" Fjord in golden buckskin/dun.
The "club" Morgan in bright chestnut, flaxen m/t, VERY flashy!!
My want list is HUGE!

Hi!
What a great idea this list is. I'm a great fan of Animal Artistry and have
quite a few of their models. I have on order 4 minis right now including the
new Morgan who looks stunning from his photo. Can't wait to see him in the
'flesh'.
Hi!
Well, I only have 2 AA mini´s yet, but I´m sure of buying more!
I´d really love to have a Haflinger and a trad. Hackney.
I have a mini dartmoor rep. to a lovely silver dapple. I have him as a welsh
mountain.
The second one is the show special arab gelding. I´m going to send him to
Lori Daniels for repainting. Probably he´ll be bay, or maybe chestnut.
I think that the AA´s are very realistic and charming! I´ve really fallen
for them!
Marie Wennerhag
Hi everyone... I was so happy to see this group formed. I am a big
A-A fan,
I have a lot of the minis and the limited edition Rearing Welsh (125 pc I
think?)
Mine is a pretty light rose dapple grey. I never show him though because he
is attached to that large rock-base.
I got my Morgan about 2 weeks ago and LOVE him !! He has so much
personality.
I am going to order an unpainted and have it repainted as a half Morgan PINTO.
I love the new china pieces, but as of yet, they are still out of my budget..
maybe in a nother year or so ! They are very lovely indeed and worth every
cent ... so I am not criticizing the price, just the fact that I cannot
afford them at this time. Besides... I have so many MINI's yet to get <grin>

Hi AA group,
I joined the c club again this year. I now have on order painted and
unpainted Morgans, the Trad Hackney and the Stm Dartmoor. Ohhhh to
get time to paint them all.

Congratulations, Jean! Feel invited to tell us more.
For you lucky people with horses that can be "voted for" in this survey;
perhaps you too could write to the list with some info?
And, to get some more talk started -who else has new pieces from AA, or is
expecting one soon?
All the best,
Anne-Li
Mine is a 'custom' and he does great - multi-champ in photo shows.

I thought we might try a survey of wins/awards.
Starting with the Arabian Striking out in Original finish. If you
have one of these horses, go to the 'surveys'
at Animal-Artistry@Onelist.com and place your votes.
Also drop me a line if you have ideas for the next survey.....Andrew

Hi Anne-Li,
Yes, I agree, I love the tail on the new morgan. But not really for the
same reason :-) You see, I don't live show, so I hadn't even thought of
the benefits for packing! But I like the tail (and the mane) because they
make the model look very alive. When you look at him, you can feel the
breeze blowing. The tail drapes so realistically over the leg -- I bet
there will be some really outstanding photo show shots of this mold out
there.

The color-combination of your Arab in Costume sounds lovely, Jana!
My latest AA piece is also the new morgan in bay. I call him Benton, after
Benton Fraser in Due South. I didn't realise it until this friday, but one
thing (among several) that I really like about this model is the tail. :-)
I was going to a liveshow here in Sweden, and at first I was very worried
about packing him, because I had somehow gotten the impression that his
tail stuck out. But he turned out to be really easy to pack, since the tip
of the tail is going "inwards", allowing me to wrap my material outside it.
If it had gone outwards it would have been easy to break.
He is a very proud-looking creature, and the color on mine is very, very
nice! He did well at the show too, came second in the resin morgan-class
with a respectable 53 points.
All the best,
Anne-Li Mell

Hello!
I welcome you all to the Animal Artistry mailinglist!
I am Anne-Li Mell, your "listmom". We are currently 20 subscribers to
the list, though I hope more will come. Invitations have been sent to
Haynet, Breakables, IPABRA and SMML (the Swedish modelhorse
mailinglist). Those are the lists that I am on; I'd appreciate
suggestions on other lists to send an invitation to (mail me privately,
please). I can usually be reached at anne-li.mell@..., though I
will sometimes mail from anne-li.mell@....
I own around 25 AA-models and plan to get more of them when I can
afford to.
A lot of people subscribed after that Andrew announced that the front
page of the Animal Artistry website was remade over the weekend. He asked
for comments about it. Personally, I thought it looked good!
I hope we will have lots of fun together!
All the best,
Anne-Li Mell

Hello everybody! I'm looking forward to this list, because
my Animal Artistry pieces are my favorites! I only have 9 minis
to date and love them all. I bought a new shelf the other
day for them and now they are nicely displayed.
I just received my latest three minis last week:
1) The new morgan - WOW! I love his stance and his solid
body. In lovely bay.
2) The show special Arab gelding - Really sweet, very fine.
3) The Arab in Costume - flea-bitten grey with a purple
costume. Absolutely outstanding!
Now here is a question -- How much of the painting does Donna
do herself, and how much do other artists do? Andrew, are you
painting all of the costumed Arabs?
Well, that is it for me. My contribution for the day... :-)
Thanks for creating the new list Anne-Li!

Hallo all !, to the new Animal Artistry list. I hope we can all make it
interesting and successfull. As an opener I spent part of last weekend
creating a new front page (homepage) to the web pages. I would appreciate
anyones thoughts and opinions on it. Do you prefer it to the last one with
the black background? Does it catch the eye and encourage you to look
further? Any thoughts ??......thanks, Andrew....................... I put a
link on the Onelist 'links' page, but here it is
