This list is devoted to the discussion, research and modeling of the 1975-1976 journey of the American Freedom Train, including the locomotives, cars, exhibits, memorabilia and last but not least, the crew that brought us this memorable event (and not to forget the Preamble Express, the train that scouted out the route for the Bicentennial American Freedom Train). Info on the 1947 era Freedom Train is welcomed as well.

The photo to the right was scanned from a 5x7 that I recently purchased. Data on the back indicates it was taken on August 7, 1975 "crossing Milwaukee Rd at Davis Junction". Stamp on the back says 'William Eley' ... wonder where 4449 was?
