NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Only about 4% of troubled borrowers have received long-term help under the Obama administration's foreclosure prevention program, Treasury officials said Thursday.

A nearly equal number of trial modifications have been denied permanent assistance, the report showed. The reasons include not making monthly payments on time, not submitting all the necessary paperwork, or not qualifying for reasons such as insufficient income.

Working to help fund ongoing wars without sharp tax increases or increased foreign borrowing has led Nebraska's Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Nebraska) to introduce a new measure: the US War Bonds Act of 2009.

The legislation, introduced Tuesday, would authorize the Treasury to issue and market War Bonds to the American people to help pay for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

One of the side benefits of this video is watching Al Gore race away from the patriots in his luxury SUV. Why was he not on a bicycle? On this first day of the Copenhagen climate summit (12-08-2009) The London Telegraph carries an article which asks "How green is the summit?" The climate change conference will be telling the world to cut its carbon footprint. But what are the organizers doing to practice what they preach?"

Consider the fossil fuel consumed as most of the 15,000 con men and 2,000 journalists arrive in jet aircraft, including 140 private planes, and then continue on in some 1,200 VIP limousines. The climate change summit that will produce as much carbon dioxide as the Nation of Morocco (about 40,500 tons).

The con men are making hay out of the claim that their limousines will run on a fuel that is synthetically produced from straw. They must be asserting that the plants that grow today have less carbon than the ones from which the fossil fuels were produced. If they really  wanted to use transportation that runs on straw they would be riding a horse. Of course, then they would be responsible for the emissions from both ends of the horse. Carbon Dioxide comes from one end of the horse, and the junk science of global warming comes from the other end of the horse.  One end of the horse will be well represented at this summit.
