Its not performance, unless you don't encounter any low trees or bushes, or low overpasses, remember, they are usually lower on the side away from the median.

Ok, I have a question. I got my radio (Kenwood TM-D700), my coax, and my antenna (Diamond SG7900) I have read posts that say I should mount it on the drivers

Hmm, the only reason I can think, is to prevent it from being knocked off by trees and such! Will not have any bearing that I can think of on the signal of
