This list is for the discussion and development of an annual Ásatrú Althing, an assembly where various views and ideas can be shared and discussed in friđ with a focus on the culture and faith of the Old Norse and Germanic people. The purpose of the Althing is to promote tolerance among the heathen community and a gathering open to all regardless of organizational affilation or lack of.

Members of the list are encouraged to participate in discussion and requests for or offers to conduct activities, classes, discussions and rituals and to be involved in the planning and holding of the annual Althing.

While it would be possible to hold a Lögretta as part of the Althing it is not our intention to do so, we feel that disagreements between groups and individuals should be dealt with on a local or regional basis first. The Althing is meant to be a gathering of equals with the intention of focusing on the faith and what is held in common rather than disagreements..

Commercial messages are not to be sent to the list. Anyone sending such messages will be removed/banned from the list and their messages deleted.
