Have you discovered altered art, rubber stamping or mixed media/collage? Would you like to meet other artists, some who are also new to altered art and others who have already stARTed their journey?

Altered_stART was originally created as an online group for people who were new to the world of altered art and Yahoo art groups. While we still focus primarily on people who are discovering these art forms, we welcome and encourage people of all skill levels to join.

Our mission is to share and learn the basics of how to create beautiful art in a helpful and friendly way. Altered Books, Art Journals, Artist Trading Cards (ATCs), Altered Objects, Assemblages, and Rubber Stamping are just a sampling of the topics we discuss in the group.

Our group is participatory in nature. If you are a lurker, this probably isn't the group for you. We welcome and encourage all art-related discussions, and though some topics of discussion may progress into other areas of interest to members, we ask that off-topic/personal threads be moved off the list and continued through private e-mail.

Anyone, regardless of skill and experience, is welcome and invited to join Altered_stART! The only requirement is an interest in discussing Altered Art, the desire to meet like-minded people and to share art.

You will be required to put your contact information in the Database under
"Group Contact List". Failure to do so will result in removal from the group.

Please note that art-related member ADs/COMMs are allowed on Mondays.
