Hello Baryek. Concerning the over priced stamps, your reaction demonstrate that
you miss the point. First, the market place is a free arena where the individual
is free to offer want to sell, for the price they think they can get. It is a
simple case of offer and demand. It does no require anyone to pay the asked
price. Let the free market take care of it self.  E bay has noting to loose,
maybe there is someone with a pile of money that wants to spread it arround. On
the other hand, I believe he was joking, or even making fun of those who took
serious the ad.

eBay has so many listings that they aren't able to police them.  They have an
agreement with the American Philatelic Society for the society to offer opinions
on items brought to their attention. 
 
I reported a 10,000 item seller who was obviously adding damaged 19th century US
stamps to covers to increase their sale price.  The stamps were not tied by
cancellations and paid no reasonable rates (e.g. a badly damaged 90 cent stamp
on a small toned domestic cover with no special service markings).  Within a few
hours all of that dealers cover listings disappeared from eBay and have not come
back.
 
Listings as you show, of penny stamps offered for $1,000s are surely by
non-collectors who happen to get an old stamp that they think is a treasure. 
Dealers often see these people who have a 1938 3cent Jefferson and think that
they will be able to buy a yacht.

I find it hard to believe that eBay allows this type of listing.  Are they that
desperate for the listing fees?  These stamps in this condition have absolutely
no value and no place in eBay's listings.
