We are open to all parents who are homeschooling their children (and those considering hs'ing) in Albemarle County, Va, and the surrounding area (including the City of Charlottesville, and Greene, Orange, Madison, Louisa, Nelson, Buckingham and Fluvanna Counties). This list's main purpose is to be a central resource for members to invite others to join them for park and craft days, list community activities, form co-operative learning groups, and announce seminars or other information important to hs'ers. My hope is to make it easier for new homeschoolers to make friends, form playgroups or study groups, and have questions about hs'ing in Va answered.

Please respect varying opinions and backgrounds. We are a secular (not religiously affiliated) list valuing diversity and tolerance. We appreciate and accept that everyone hs's and parents in accordance with their own methodologies, styles, philosophies and conscience, and are united by our common love of our children. Each family and child is unique and valued here. Please do not include religious or political opinion or admonishments, and note that you can be banned from participating in the list if you do. No flaming or bashing allowed.

Notices and discussions about exclusive groups and activities based on religion will not be allowed. This does include the Boy Scouts. If you have questions about a particular message you'd like to send, you can email the moderators first. Use good judgment.

Put "OT" in your subject line if posting about non-hs'ing issues or questions.
