Some of my ancestors turned off onto the Meriweather Trail and settled in Dublin, Ramer, Pine Level and Hope Hull, of Montgomery County, while some went on down the road to Lowndes County and Dallas County. I have other ancestors in Chambers, Elmore, Shelby and Talladega County.

The farmers and planters raised their families and the branches began to spread out, travel across the state and create new families.

They lived among the several tribes of Indians and wild beasts.

Many suffered the great loss during the Civil War and had to start over.
