The first African Day Parade and Festival took place in August 2007 in Harlem, New York, USA. It has since become a great and colorful annual tradition, honored by the US House of Representatives, the NYC Council and soon the NYS Senate, among other august bodies.
Come and join us in this Celebration of Africa with African drums and dance groups, African masked dancers, costumes, traditional outfits, accessories, musical instruments (djembes, tam-tams, shekeres etc.), religious, social, and professional organizations, various associations, schools, bands, steppers, singers, performers and much more!
Our next African Day Parade and Festival is on Sunday September 27th 2009 in Harlem, New York, from 11AM to 7PM on Adam Clayton Powell (7th Ave) from 126th St to 116th St, and on to Morningside Park at 114th St and Morningside Ave. Don't miss it!
