The AASP is not a volunteer organization that arranges for volunteer work in different countries, but an educational organization that seeks to educate people concerning cultural, political and social issues in Africa, Brazil, and Cuba. Each of the 13 educational trips for 2008-2009 are centered around themes that are concerned with a special topic.

The organization was founded by Prof. Harold Rogers, Dr. Margaret Burroughs, Prof. Ismay Ashford and the late Prof. Cyril Packwood. Prof. Rogers is the current President of the AASP.
Some of the topics on our trips focuses on slavery, cross cultural comparisons, political changes, family life, health issues, and art. On all of our trips there are lectures from government officials, educators, community organizations, and cultural institutions. We also do city tours in all of the cities we visit and on most of the tours we have family visits.
We offer a full program each day.
We are not travel agents, but educators who feel that our organization has a responsibility to provide a life time experience in the countries we visit for the people that join our tours.
Our organization makes all land and air arrangements including, programs, hotels, guides, and land transportation. Our prices are based on a minimum of 15 people with a maximum of 20 people. Some prices may change based on air cost. The 2009 dates are only a day difference from the 2008 program. All of our programs are led by one our experienced staff members from the start of your trip in the United States until your return to the U.S. All of our programs are open to everyone. JOIN US.
