Description
Welcome to Adventure Schooling. This group is for families who enjoy getting out of the house and being adventurous. You are welcome to join us. Tell us about great field trips in your area, and about good family vacations you have enjoyed, and any other advice you may have about traveling and learning as a family.
My husband, three daughters, and I have taken many large and small trips. The big ones include spending a summer in Taiwan teaching English and hiking in the rainforest. And we took a whole 365 days to travel around the U. S. and Canada to see all of the scientific, historic, and cultural sites we could find. Among the shorter trips have been nearly all of the science museums, aquariums, theaters, zoos, theme parks, Shakespeare festivals, Dickens festivals, Renaissance faires, Civil War re-enactments, and natural beauties of our state. No doubt we have missed some, so please tell us about your discoveries.
We are planning a summer filled with interesting and exciting trips to many places between San Diego and San Francisco. We invite as many of you to join us as possible -- our kids seem to learn almost as much from interacting with other people as they do from the locations we visit.
If you are from California, you may know us as homeschooling speakers and writers for CHN and HSC -- we have been meeting with other homeschooling families for eleven years now. Our three daughters are 12, 14, and 16 and they have been educated in 4 countries and 40 states so far. The oldest is now in college, but of course she still lives at home.
If you have any questions about homeschooling, "relaxed" homeschooling, or unschooling please feel free to ask us.
Jump right in. We are looking forward to extending the literally hundreds of discussions we have had with families and from whom we have learned so much.
Thank you,
Ann Severi - Moderator
