AdoptSAHP is a *SECULAR* list for moms and dads who primarily stay at home with their kids (some of us work part time or from home). Our families all include children through adoption (with or without biological children). So far, we have adoptive parents of kids from China, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, the U.S., Russia, Haiti, Guatemala, the Phillipines, India, Africa, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Belarus, Romania, Mexico, etc. in the group!

Other Stay at Home Parents egroups I'd found focused more on topics related to biological parenting, such as pregnancy, labor, childbirth, breastfeeding, etc. This didn't serve my needs at all, so I started this group to also address the needs of stay at adoptive parents.

This is a secular list dedicated to supporting one another as we strive to be the best stay at home adoptive parents we can be. Please show sensitivity to the fact that there are people on this list with varied religious beliefs.

Topics we've discussed so far have included: keeping kids busy, sleeping and eating issues (night terrors, etc.), bonding, birthmother issues, preschools, babysitting co-ops, crockpot recipes (YUM), identity, feeling isolated, potty training, coping when your spouse travels, sibling rivalry, adding a child to your family, and spouse perceptions of what we DO all day! And MUCH more.
