In the
first line, that should read “…of the great
support we have from our own Senator McCain on the …”. Apologies for the typo,
it’s been a long week.

Congressional response regarding DTV
Please be advised of the support (in the
attached letter) we have great from our own Senator McCain on the importance of
protecting the 700 MHz spectrum for our much needed public safety systems in
Both the NRPC (http://www.nrpc.
If the opportunity exists from any of us
that communicate with Senator McCain’s office, please express our
gratitude for his quick response and continued support for public safety and
the frequency/spectrum issues we have.
If you did not get a copy of the letter in
your email (due to the type of notifications you get from Yahoo Groups) it will
also be posted up, shortly, in our files section under a “DTV
Transition” folder.

Subject: Congressional response
regarding DTV
As you may know, the president elect
has suggested that the FCC delay the transition date for DTV implementation. We
objected to the delay in the spectrum that
will be used by public safety. Attached are two letters
received: one is in response to our letter from Congressman Cliff
Stearns, the Ranking Republican on the House Subcommittee on Communications,
Technology and the Internet, and the other is from Senator McCain in support of
protecting the 700MHZ public safety spectrum from any delay in being released.
