AVER-Hawaii is a Honolulu-based chapter of the non-profit American Veterans for Equal Rights, Inc. Its mission is to provide support services and promote advocacy on behalf of and for LGBT veterans and service members in Hawaii. Its membership is diverse, including veterans and active duty service members, both gay and straight, as well as military partners, and civilian allies. All have their own unique experiences with discrimination, and all have a passion for establishing equality within the culture of the military.
