3 kidnappers arrested, body recovered
ATTOCK: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) police have arrested
three persons who allegedly kidnapped a man from the limits of
Industrial Area police station and later killed him.The police have
also recovered the body of kidnapped person Umer Naeem, 27, son of
Altaf Hussain, from Attock.According to a press statement, Naeem had
been kidnapped along with his car (IDG-318) on April 21 when he was
coming home after dropping his father at his office in Industrial
Area.When Naeem did not return home his father lodged a case with the
Industrial Area police station. On the direction of Acting Senior
Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr Moeen Masood the case was
transferred to CIA police.CIA police chief Bashir Ahmad Noon
constituted a team, which after investigation arrested Raja Muhammad
Zafar, resident of Rawalpindi, Lal Gulab, resident of Akora Khattak
and Jamseed Nawaz, resident of Attock. During investigation they
confessed to kidnapping and killing of Naeem. On the information
provided by the accused, police recovered body of the deceased from a
deep ditch in the limits of Jand police station (Attock). Police after
postmortem have handed over the body to his relatives. Police have
also obtained three days physical remand of the accused...

Abandoned child found in Fateh Jang
FATEH JANG: Police found an abandoned child from a godown here on
Monday. The child was handed over to a local resident named Sultan who
works as a driver. He will keep the child temporarily until a
permanent arrangement is made for the baby.

18 injured in road accident
ATTOCK: Eighteen people were injured, nine seriously, when a
Pindi-bound runaway wagon (LRD-8588) mounted the median on Peshawar
Road and overturned while overtaking a truck in the limits of Tarnol
Police Station on Saturday.According to police, the wagon heading from
Attock was overtaking a truck near EME College when its brakes failed.
As a result, it mounted the median and overturned.The police and
Rescue 1122 shifted the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital
and Holy Family Hospital. Nine injured persons, including two
children, were shifted to the Holy Family Hospital due to their
critical condition. Their names are Mukhtaran Bibi, 60, Khadeja Bibi,
50, Khalid Khan, 47, Naveed Ahmed, 70, Muhammad Hashim, 70, Sher Zaman
(wagon driver), 40, Khalid Ahmed, 27, Imran, 25, and Walayat Shah.The
remaining nine passengers shifted to the District Headquarters
Hospital are Fida Hussain, 26, Huma Fida, 20, Asma Fida, 5, Fahad
