Sounds good. It is hard to bring about change these days.

Wall paper is wall paper to me. Printers can do anything these days. As long
as I got a certificate in hand thats all that matters. I earned it and proud
of it. Did not care what they looked like.

Fine business. Hopefully, by the end of this week, I can vouch what the new
Worked All States awards look like. I had 49 states confirmed by LoTW, I then
submitted a card for the remaining state and was told on Monday the award had
been issued. I was really impressed with the ARRL's quick turnaround time.

Hello Again.

My first question, of a new user:
How can I convert .ADI file to a .TQ8 file?!

I make the LoTW log on the TQSL, because I wprk only with paper yet, I don’t have many contacts than I don’t need any log software to do it !

Carlos,

You need to install the Trusted QSL software from the ARRL web site.
It will convert the file and sign it so you can upload the .tq8 to
LOTW. See here for instructions, downloads, etc.:

Use this program to enter your paper logs.

http://www.df3cb.com/fle/index.html

Then use the trusted qsl program to get the tq 5 or what ever it is.

Jim,
Great April Fools joke.
Telling someone who has already done the work to put their log into
ADIF format to enter their data all over again. Brilliant.

Carlos, since it's no longer April first (zulu): all you need to do is
to install TrustedQSL. That will allow you to convert your existing log
to a .TQ8 file.

Carlos,

The TQSL program you created your log with also has an option
under File to sign your log, that will create the TQ8 for you.

Carlos,

You need to install the Trusted QSL software from the ARRL web site.
It will convert the file and sign it so you can upload the .tq8 to
LOTW. See here for instructions, downloads, etc.:

HEllo Jim.

Since I’m ham (1996 like CT5GFQ, and than +/- 1998 CT2GFQ starting the HF band DX) I use the paper to make my log book.
Only in digital format for CQ WW or CQ WPX, but with afraid to loose the log.

Today I upload only 32 contacts, and gradually I’ll upload 2007-2008-2009.
When I finish this job, maybe, I’ll Upload the old qso’s.

Carlos I still keep a paper log as a back up. I still get some requests for
confirmations on EQsl that are not in the computer log that I have to check in
the paper log for. So far when I check the paper log, they were not in any log.

When making an entry in my paper log I will catch a problem ether with the paper
log or the computer log. So I make changes. Not getting any younger so I do
make mistakes. Paper log helps me to catch those mistakes.

I have every thing uploaded to EQSL and LOTW from 1968 to being current this
year. I still get confirmations from 1995 or so here on LOTW and EQSL. You
just never know all ways a surprise.

To copy your DXCC (or WAS, etc) achievements into an Excel file is relatively simple. Open up your Excel program to a fresh blank file page.

Then, select the award that you want to copy into an Excel spreadsheet on the ARRL LotW website and have it opened on your PC monitor screen.

Next, starting from the upper left hand corner of the information that you want to copy, left click and hold the left mouse button and drag the mouse pointer down the length of your record.

When you reach the bottom and have covered all of the information, release your finger from the button. The entire highlighted area will remain.

NOW, with the mouse pointer in the highlighted area, RIGHT CLICK, and select COPY.

Go to blank Excel screen that you've opened previously, position the mouse pointer to a field towards the upper left corner of the new file (say, cell A4), right click your mouse, and select PASTE.

Voila! All of the entity names and your QSOs will be listed in your Excel file.

NOTE: To my knowledge, there is no direct "exporting" function from the LotW website into Excel; the copy method described here will capture the info for your use in your Excel file.

Recently a member here posted directions on how to bring up your credits from LOTW and list then in an EXCEL spreadsheet.

Well, I did that.  I went into LOTW and went to WAS and selected RTTY and got a list of all the states I had CREDIT for and the call signs of those stations.  I immediately thought something was wrong as CA was blank and I know for a fact I have many CAs confirmed on RTTY in LOTW.  I then went to "Your QSOs" and did a search on RTTY QSOs - USA - WAS award - I got a long list of QSOs, of which many were from CA.  Next to each entry in a box was :

BASIC; 20M; RTTY; 20M RTTY

or something similar with the band changed to match the QSO.  Then there was a small check box and the code !M* which has a legend on the bottom that says

M* = QSO does not match WAS Award Account parameters

What about the QSO makes it NOT MATCH when it is indeed a confirmed QSO and what do I have to do to make LOTW recognize those QSOs (which LOTW says are confirmed) as counted towards my RTTY WAS?

I uploaded about 250 QSO's from last weekends contest. About a third to half
have been confirmed as uploaded, and many of those have been matched to other
users uploads (confirmed QSO).

The rest are still sitting there unconfirmed as uploaded. Should it take this
long??

This HR2J, I uploaded on the 29th Mar and the normal message said that they were being readied for processing, I have not seen the message returning that they were in my history of iuploads.  I uploaded 88 contacts today for the last two days and doubt that will show up overnight. Any problems.?

No, no, no. You don't understand how radio works! (trivia - where's that line
from?)

I fully understand that most amateurs, especially DX, are not LoTW members. I
use ACLOG, which, in turn, uses TrustedQSL to upload entries to LoTW. The ACLOG
log entries are marked (S)ent for those that have been accepted and processed by
LoTW. In addition, the entries that are eventually matched against a QSO
uploaded by someone else are marked (R)eceived.

The question is why were some of my most recent 250 entries pretty quickly
marked (S)ent, but after a week most have not.

Querying the unmarked uploads directly on www.arrl.com/lotw returns no records,
so it's not a problem with ACLOG.

Clint, my suggestion is to send an email to   lotw-help@...    and also to Bill Moore,   NC1L@... describing the problem.

I had a similar issue last year and Bill Moore walked me through a change in the setting on my LotW account setup which immediately fixed the problem.

Unfortunately, I didn't save the information, but both Bill and the LotW help desk are very interested in helping with any issues.

When mine didn't show up I went back and looked at my log, and some info
was missing. I added the info and uploaded them again and then they
showed up in a few minutes.

What sort of info?

If I take the logging program out of the picture entirely, create an ADIF file
with the info and invoke TrustedQSL directly, will I see any additional info
that might help debug this?

Hi!

I recently submitted a DXCC update using LOTW.  I was amazed at how easy it was to claim credits and how fast the update got to me (submitted to LOTW/DXCC 12/24/08, and the DXCC response was in the mail on 12/26/08!)

I was disappointed, though that I received no printout of my updated DXCC records like when I submit a paper application.

Using the tips in this thread I was hoping to find my Band/Mode records on my merged LOTW/DXCC and create an Excel file.  All that I was able to find on the LOTW website was my country credits and the QSL that got me each country.

What I am wondering is if there is any way to locate my band/mode totals so I can move it to an Excel file to update my records?

Thanks in advance for the help!   73, John NZ9Z

John,

Assuming you've combined your paper QSL and LotW records already, then...
1) Select your DXCC Award Account on the LotW main page
2) On the next screen, pick "View Award Credit Matrix", shown at the bottom of this screen, and
3) Voila! There's all your DXCC accomplishments by band and mode and entity!
4) Using your mouse, highlight the entire display and copy / paste into a blank Excel spreadsheet.

Fait accompli...
