This group is for anyone who lives in The Woodlands, Spring, Magnolia, Conroe, or any other city in the north Houston area and who practices attachment parenting or who is interested in learning more about it.

Attachment Parenting is a positive, loving, empathic style of parenting with the goal of fulfilling the child's need for the trust, empathy and affection necessary to create healthy attachments and secure, enduring relationships. The Eight Ideals of AP are preparation for childbirth, emotional responsiveness, breastfeeding, babywearing, sharing sleep, avoiding frequent or prolonged separations, positive discipline, and balance in family life.

API support groups provide a means of learning attachment parenting, a place to share ideas and ongoing child rearing concerns, and a safe haven where parents can communicate openly about their choices. We are open to all families interested in AP. We will also be holding monthly meetings probably starting in July-2007.
