Hello. Welcome to ANWAWrite, sponsored by American Night Writers Association. This Yahoo! Group is dedicated to writing exercises, and we hold about four each year. The group is open to the general public, and is not exclusively for ANWA members. You don't have to be a woman, a member of the Mormon church, or an ANWA member to participate.


We don't critique work here, but you're welcome to chat about writing concerns or writing techniques.

Writing events include several WoWs (Week of Writing) and a BIAM (Book in a Month), which takes place in November in conjunction with NaNoWriMo. We also challenge you to write at least 100 words each day (you may take pre-determined days off, such as for worship or travel).

During WoWs, we push to write as much as we can during the week. No editing allowed! Set a goal for your daily writing output during the WoW, and let the Event Leader know what it is. Write as much as you can, but refrain from editing! Report daily on your word count. We'll all encourage you in return.

The same principle of goal setting, flat-out writing, refraining from editing, reporting, and encouragement applies to the BIAM event.

BIAM - Nov 1-30: BIAM (in conjunction with National Novel Writing Month)
