Welcome to AMWANet at Yahoogroups.com! AMWANet e-group is an extension of the Association of Muslim Women in America, Inc., an organization created for and by American muslim women to discuss issues relevant to muslim women.

Our principle goal and objective, fisabilillah, is to provide a supportive and encouraging environment for muslim women in a time of crisis where strategies can be developed to improve women's access to islamic educational resources, promote economic development, and organize for effective community involvement. Through this comprehensive approach, muslim women can effectively dispel negative myths and stereotypes promoted by the media against muslim women and the rights of muslim women in Islam. You don't have to be a registered member of AMWA to participate in this e-group, but please consider becoming a full member (see group page Files section for by-laws and membership information).

Updates on AMWA activities are posted as they become available in the group page. Muslim women interested in joining this e-group or AMWA at large, please send a short email to info@amwanet.org describing your level of activity in supporting and promoting issues which concern muslim women. Please support our objective to increase public awareness and understanding of the rights and role of muslim women throughout all aspects of islamic society.
