I posted some information that I got from Dept today...hope this helps others
out! It can be found under files.
Not really...they just went over the awards. The big change is in the patch program. They are changing the ages.
Level 1 was K-5, but will now be K-3
Level 2 was 6-8, but will now be 4-8
They were running behind because of the executive board meeting, so it was pretty quick.
Hope this helps!

This was my first year at the National Convention since I was a Jr...so I learned alot!
My question is ... do alot of Departments use the 'Intent to Run' forms like National for your Dept officers?
Here is my thoughts...I would like to see my dept use these and make the parents sign the form as well. So many times our Dept President doesnt get a prayer book, or a historian book, because the girl who took the office doesn't do one. Maybe if the parents were more involved and knew what was expected they would help to see that this stuff gets done.
Just looking for input as to what other departments do?
How did you like your first at National Convention? I think you have a great idea. You can contact the National Junior Chairman and ask her to send you the Intent to Run forms. I will pass on the information to my department as well.

When is the Patch Program going to be updated? I heard of the age change, but
are there any other changes?
It would be nice to get information earlier.
I get frustrated...our Junior year starts in April and we don't get info until
the fall...it always seems like we have to hurry and try and get activities done
before our "Junior Year" is over and we have to get our reports turned in.
Thanks,
Cyndi
I understand completely! I just got an email response from National stating that the patch sheets will be updated in about 2 weeks and to watch for them on the national website. It is frustrating though, cuz then you are rushing to get all those things done before year end!

I just found it but you have to go to the National Plan of work and follow the link for the patches from there. There is no link on the national website yet.

Last night I hosted a Parent Night/Open House for my Juniors. We sent out
invites and prepared a meal. The families came and enjoyed a nice dinner.
After supper the girls each got up and talked about the last years projects we
had completed. I had the girls introduce their families. After it we were done
we had an area with the girls posters, corsages, items that they had made thru
out the year. We also had our scrapbook and a slide show of all the pictures
from the last year. Parents were able to see all the girls had done. I handed
out all the awards/patches that the girls had recieved last year.
We also had 2 new faces come that were members but had never been active in the
past...it gave them the oppurtunity to see what we do.
We had folders for the girls with this years contests, dates to remember and
contact info.
It was a great night and all the parents and girls had a wonderful time!
Just sharing an idea ....
That sounds wonderful...I am so proud of you for being on top of all your girls did last year and being able to put such a program together for them to enjoy and be recognized. Keep all the great ideas coming.

We are in the starting phase of planning a soup supper for our Junior group to
raise money.
How much do we charge? Do you just do soup and crackers or soup, bread and
crackers?
Looking for ideas from others who have done this?
THanks!
Say a prayer for Tristan, our ALA Department of Ohio District 13 Honorary Junior
Aux President/Unit 610 VP. She was rushed to the hospital with a ruptured
appendix and will be hospitalized for several days at Akron Children's. Please
keep her in your prayers.
What a great idea...i would probably do both bread and crackers. $1.50-$2.00 per bowl sounds reasonable to me. I wish you great success. We are having a "Post" Game Wing night following the last home football game next friday. We have invited the community to join us...hopefully we can get some people in the door...to see that the Legion is not scary and not just for old men anymore.
