Peregrine Joe reported that the previously described Willow Flycatcher was
refound in the same location twice between 11am and noon on Friday the 10th. We
are still trying to get a recording of the bird, which will hopefully happen
tomorrow.
Also, a Common Nighthawk was reported calling from Swanson River Oilfield on the
evening of the 9th. There is no vehicular access to this sight and the location
is 5 miles in from the last vehicle traffic spot. We will wait for further
confirmation on this bird and post if it comes back. At that point any attempts
to see this bird should be coordinated with me at the Kenai National Wildlife
Refuge. More to follow.
