The Tri-City Herald seeks an experienced and energetic copy editor/designer for
our
excellent 40K+ daily in Eastern Washington. Our copy editors do it all: Edit
copy, write great
headlines, slot wire, design attractive A1s, feature and wire pages. You'll also
have an
opportunity to help us grow our website, from collaborating with our Interactive
Department
on promotions to creating and posting original content.

A bachelor's degree in journalism or related field are preferred. Good
organizational and
time management skills are a must. Must be able to work with reporters, editors
and other
departments in a cooperative atmosphere where all departments take pride in the
final
product. Quark experience required. Knowledge of Photoshop and/or Illustrator a
plus.

We are a leader in using new technology and a member of the McClatchy Co. We
offer a
competitive salary and benefits package, and are an equal opportunity employer
and welcome
a diversity of candidates. Send résumé, list of references and samples of
headlines, writing
and layouts to Dieter Bohrmann, news editor, Tri-City Herald, 333 W. Canal
Drive,
