BEGINNING QUILTERS: If you are VERY new to quilting, we strongly suggest checking out the African American Quilters listserve. AAQ is a very, very friendly and helpful group that can help a newbie get started working with quilting techniques.

This list is specifically for experienced African American Art Quilters who are interested in sharing information on artquilting techniques, marketing, exhibition opportunities in art shows, galleries and museums, and other directly related topics of interest.

Our focus is on the unique experience of African American artquilters, on innovation and artistic expression in textile art and on building upon and expanding the use of the quilted wall-hanging as a form of fine art.
