Mike Yu

2008: Criminal Justice and Criminology, Asian American Studies
As a detective, Mr. Yu is responsible for coordinating i
investigations and patrol officers at the scene of the crime, as well as the counseling and interviews of victims, obtaining and executing search and arrest warrants, and coordinating investigations with other jurisdictions.
His previous involvement in the legal arena includes his experience as a police officer, in which her answers calls for service, enforces criminal and traffic laws, and patrols community proactively to reduce crime. As part of the Special Operations Division, Alcohol Enforcement Unit in 2007, he patrolled for drivers under the influence and conducted alcohol compliance checks at business establishments. More recently, in 2008, he was part of the Firearms Investigations Unit, Career Criminal Section, in which he investigated and assisted with all firearm related crimes, conducted ammunitions log checks of gun stores, and seized firearms from individual prohibited from possessing firearms.
Grayson Dacanay

Currently, Mr. Dacanay is the director of Business and Development for a Medical Consulting firm, Healthpro Business Solutions in Waldorf, Maryland. His job description involves keeping and maintaining relations with all existing clients. He also work to bring new clients to our company. He works to keep up with new technology in the Healthcare field. He helps to start up new offices around the world for our company (India, Philippines, Canada). These are a few of his major responsibilities.
Previously, he worked as a Transportation EIT (Engineer in Training) with Clark Nexsen, an Architectural and Engineering firm in Virginia. The job entailed him working along side a PE (Professional Engineer) in the transportation field. He worked on AutoCAD to help design new traffic patterns and Parking areas for Local colleges (NOVA and VMI).
Aazamina Rangwala
(SGA Senior Vice President, Committee Chair & Legislator Student Government, RA BCC-Scholar Arts program, President of the Indian Students Association)
2005: Public and Community Health
Aazamina is involved in the international health/non-profit arena, currently working on strengthening health systems and building capacity of individuals and institutions in Africa that are involved with HIV/AIDS care, support, and treatment. As the Program Manager for American International Health Alliance, she is responsible for the planning and implementation of twinning partnerships and volunteer programs, monitoring programs, conducting management and assessment trips, preparing programmatic publications, and developing partnerships and program budgets.
Previously, she has been a Program Coordinator for Indiocorps, where she supported a leadership program for youths, a Program Manager for Verala Development Society and developed culturally appropriate HIV/AIDS training curriculum and designed, piloted, and assessed training workshops for peer educators.
Jamie K. Lok
(AASU VP of Finance and Community Service Chair, FUEL Executive Director)

Jamie is currently a graduate student graduating this May 2009 with a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree. Her research interest is addictive behaviors in minority populations. In the University of Maryland, School of Public Health, Jamie is researcher and interventionist in the Center for Health Behavior Research. She works on clinical trials and federal grants related to nicotine dependence (cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, and hookah). Additionally, Jamie is a researcher for the Maryland Asian American Health Solutions and has worked on two minority health disparities grants involving Asian Americans on the county and state level. Her projects include identifying the health needs of underrepresented Asian communities in Montgomery County, Maryland and a tobacco control evaluation contract from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) examining the cultural, psychosocial, and environmental factors influencing tobacco use among four major Asian American communities in Maryland (Asian Indian, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese).
She has completed internships at the National Institutes of Health in the National Cancer Institute, Tobacco Control Research Branch and in the Immediate Office of the Secretary at the US Department of Health and Human Services. She serves on national leadership boards of the American Public Health Association (APHA)'s Student Assembly and Asian Pacific Islander Caucus. Jamie is also an Executive Board Member of the University of Maryland Asian Pacific American Alumni Network (APAAN). Most recently, Jamie is the graduate student recipient of the President's Commission on Ethnic Minority Issues' Ethnic Minority Achievement Award, recognizing outstanding contributions to the University's equity efforts.
