Description

Ann Arbor Home Canning group is for anyone living in and around Ann Arbor MI. that is interested in home canning and food preservation. Tell your friends about us!

Safe canning techniques are critical. Just because a recipe is posted on this list doesn't mean that it is safe. If you are not sure if a recipe is safe, some good sources of safe canning information and recipes can be found here:

The USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning http://foodsafety.psu.edu/canningguide.html

The Ball Blue Book http://www.homecanning.com/USA/ALBasics.asp

MSU Extension http://fooddomain.msu.edu/edu_bulletin-fs.htm

Penn State Extension http://foodsafety.cas.psu.edu/preserve.html

If you are still not sure about a technique or a recipe, we have a wonderful free service provided by the Washtenaw County MSU Extension to answer your food preservation questions. Call or email the food safety expert. http://www.ewashtenaw.org/government/departments/extension/ex_extfnp.html
