This group started out as a place for former lefties mugged by reality on September 11, 2001 and drawn towards neoconservative ideals to come together, share ideas, make connections, and let their voices be heard. Since that time (early 2006), it has grown to include ex-lefties from various periods, as well as conservatives, libertarians, moderates, and classical liberals.
Our politics cover a lot of territory, but generally we are pro-America, pro-Israel, pro-democracy, pro-capitalism and in favor of fighting the war on Islamic terrorism through both military and non-military means. We also try to combat anti-Semitic and anti-Christian sentiment.
While the group was originally based in the Bay Area of San Francisco, people from all over are welcome to join. Members include journalists, bloggers, professors, veterans, active duty military personnel, military family members, counter-protesters, West Coast Republicans, local pro-Israel activists, and likeminded friends. We also share members with the New York-based Liberal Hawks.
Political blogger GM Roper (http://gmsplace.com) is the moderator. The moderator is not responsible for the content of members' posts.
