There was a time when this group was unmoderated. Please use common sense when
corresponding with members of this group - we are here to discuss narrow gauge
railway modelling and have fun doing so.

Things to remember:
1 - Humour does not translate easily to the written word. Emoticons and other
devices are not fool-proof. Please mind how you phrase messages so as not to
cause offence and remember that humour translates even less well between
langauges!

2 - Please delete unneccessary information from the your emails before posting,
particularly when replying to somebody else's post, the content of which is
appended automatically to your reply. Digest recipients don't want to read
multiple copies of the same information in the same email in quick succession!

3 - There is an option to send 'Well done' replies and the like to the original
sender instead of the whole group. If the archive is to be a store of useful
information, these messages may not be needed, and our allocated space, though
generous, is limited.

4 - You can delete anything that you post - files, photos, messages, etc. If you
decide that something is no longer relevent, please remove it. This applies
equally to content with a shelf-life, like postings about items for sale or eBay
auctions. That is not to say don't post them because people will be interested
to see them but they are no longer required when the item is sold.

5 - Membership is moderated but not restricted to members of the Association.
The first few posts of new members are also moderated to ensure that posts of
dubious or irrelevent content are not allowed through. Posts from new members
may not therefore appear immediately. Moderation will be removed quicker if you
are a member of the Association and include a valid membership number in your
signature.

6 - Please include your name, approximate location and Association Membership
number if you have one as a signature at the end of posts in order that people
know with whom they are interacting. If you have a web site to show off, please
include that too. This is a courtesy that we ask you to extend to your fellow
members in order that less knowledgable or newer members can find a place in
this community - it is not a clique except perhaps by subject matter.

7 - You will not have been sent every post that occurred before you joined but
it is possible that your question could already have been asked and answered.
The archive of messages is accessible online at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/7mmnga/messages and is searchable using the
[Search Archive] button and box next to it.

All of the above are strong guidelines, rather than rigidly enforced rules. These
measures and suggestions result from past experience. They will be exercised, as
opposed to enforced, by the group moderators with common sense and sensitivity.

We are after all here to have fun! Thank you for your time and back to 7mm
Narrow Gauge modelling.

Dear All,
A very happy accident (serendipity). I have renteda small converted barn in
North Suffolk and I am also having a clear out. I have some Marklin HO 3 rail
locos and coaches, I appreciate this is off topic, if anybody has any
suggestions for selling these please contact me off web.

This weekend I have had the pleasure of HESC's company promoting (or
frightening folk away from) the Association at the Manchester show. Last
year I bought from Association Sales two sweat shirts and two short sleeved
polo shirts. I have use the former on regular occasions, but this weekend is
the first time it has been warm enough to use the latter. Note WARM and
MANCHESTER, though it did rain on Sunday afternoon.

Having run to the extravagance of a shirt for each day, I washed both this
morning. I now have a rather sexy pale pink shirt, with matching
handkerchiefs and underwear. I do not recall a problem with the sweatshirts.

Gentlemen, please advise your charladies and washerwomen.

Frank

A last minute reminder about the event being held TOMORROW (8th October) at
Shepshed (Shepshed is only 3 miles from the GCR at Loughborough and so you
could combine the two places for a busy day out!)

Our event is held for modellers interested in modelling in 0 Gauge with
smaller presences in Gauge and Gauge 3. We have test tracks to cover running
items in O, 1 and G Scale (No live steam) and 4 other layouts. There will be

of giving people value for money.

There is plenty of FREE Car Parking, reasonably priced Light Refreshments
are available during the day and there is FREE entry for accompanied u16's.
The event is located on the Shepshed Campus (Only 1 Mile from M1 Junction
23), Shepshed High School only opened Sept 2007 it is a modern, light and
airy building with NO steps so getting round is easy! There are a number of
items upstairs but access is by LIFT so even wheelchair users can get to see
everything.

Public Transport - by train to Loughborough then Paul Winson bus service No4
to Shepshed. Buses leave Loughborough station at 07.33, 08.03, 08.33, 09.23,
09.53, 10.23, 10.53, 11.23, 11.53, arriving in Shepshed around 20 minutes

Hello there,

I would imagine you have not had many replies, because second hand Bachmann in
American outline is scarcer than hen`s teeth.     However I do have for
sale, a Bachmann Forney, equipped with sound which is in excellent condition has
only been run at a maximum for about one hour since  bought it new..   Reason
for sale, simple, I am stripping down my space in the bedroom to make way for a
grandson, how about that.   Anyway here is the locomotive which I have
photographed, the weathering was done with water colours and will easily sponge
off.  make me an offer.

Roy

In addition to Duncan Models and Langley (possibly only 4mm at the latter) I
would look at the PLM Castaways range.
Phil Morris doesn't do a website, "Too busy making models!", he says but I'm
sure he would answer a telephone enquiry if you ring him on 01902 339011.
You may tell him I 'sent' you, if you wish!

Went there, good to see Phil (Port Wynnstay) Ian and Mike (7mmNGA). I thought it
was ok but a little sparsely attended and rather long winded getting to and from
Loughboro station. The reason I went is that I will not be going to Swanley, I
am off to Utrecht the same weekend.

Roger,

How many do you need? I could knock some out but they would need to be a mix
of resin and epoxy putty (once primed they would be fine). I have some
ordinary cows awaiting casting and I have some I cast from resin to see if
it would be easier to cast in one piece - it wasn't but from the resin ones
I could butcher them and make some Highland. Let me know if this would help.

Thanks for the offer, but I only need a couple for family joke.
While on holiday my wife “adopted” one at an animal sanctuary and as she
can’t have the real one at home I thought a model wandering around the railway
would be amusing.
Seems less amusing when written down.
