Subject: Hand written Robert Burns Book

Gentlemen,

I have a book with hand written Robert Burns stories dated 1899 and published in New York. "It is Little Journeys to the Homes of English Authors" by Elbert Hubbard. This is leather bound and hand scrolled with a number of 273 of 925 printed. The pages are perfect but browned from age. I was also told that some of the books of that time used a brown paper so this may be in even better condition.

I am a big history buff and think that it is time for this book to be in Scottish hands. There is even more history as to how this book ended up in southern Arizona. It had been at the High Jinks Ranch near Oracle, AZ. It was a gift to my family about 35 years ago when the ranch changed owners.  This ranch was build on a mountain to by Civil War Officer. One of his good friends was Buffalo Bill Cody. Across the valley from the ranch, Cody had a mine that had lots of investors from back East. Not much gold in the mine but the investors saw a lot of gold (he shotgunned the face with gold dust to show them high grade ore). The ranch is now owned by Dean Prichard who was once the editor of the Tombstone Epitath Paper.

I would love to be able to donate this book to a Scottish Society but due to some economic problems I can't do that. I had the book appraised about 10 years ago and it valued at about $1700.00. I am asking $1500.00.

If you are interested or know someone who is please contact me at lwatson@....

Thank you for your consideration.
