Description

This is a group for amateur radio operators interested in VHF and UHF SSB and CW, primarily in North America.

It's intended for general discussions of V/UHF operation, beacon information, reports of tropo and Es openings and anything else of interest to V/UHF DX enthusiasts.

The moderator is Dave, NZ4T (was N4DYR), who is a veteran of 2m/70cm DX in Scotland and England (as GM5DTB and G4YYW), and is just starting to get his feet wet again after a 20-year "vacation" from this exciting aspect of ham radio.

The photo is NZ4T's modest 2 meter SSB station. It's a Yaesu FT-290R with a Mirage 30 Watt amp. The antenna, soon to be upgraded, is a Cushcraft 4-element that was underused on packet, so it's now horizontal for SSB.

BEFORE JOINING, PLEASE READ THIS: I have been letting anyone join the group, but lately we have been getting spammed, so I now have to control the membership. When you join the group, please enter your CALL SIGN and CITY, as they appear on your license, in the comments section. IF YOU ARE NOT A LICENSED OPERATOR, use the comments section to explain your interest in joining the group.

Thanks,

Dave, NZ4T
