H Paul,
Thanks for the update on your plans for the season, it’ll be great to see you at the various events. There may be a couple of people up for crewing at the Europeans and we’ll be putting more details out sometime after the weekend of 18/19th of this month when we have a bit of a meeting with the Plymouth Regatta Week people. Ed should have got himself a 5k and brought his wife into sailing that, he’ll notice the difference!
It’ll be great to see Mark at the events, the more the merrier. Could you please respond to the facebook invite that I’ve posted on the site http://www.facebook.com/groups/340120581959/#!/events/109832615805000/ so that we can keep track of who’s coming to the Nationals – there is also another invite for the Europeans if you do manage to find a crew.
As for the mast, I’ll be chasing up the company again soon to find out how they are progressing. Hopefully we’ll get some good news soon. I know what you mean about getting out onto the water, I’ve only been out a couple of times since the Inlands – once at the Bloody Mary – which was very interesting L and last weekend which was wet cold and gusty!
Hope to speak soon.
Taff

Subject: [5000classassociation] 2012 Events - L5269
Hi Taff
Just an update on the 2012 sailing plans for L5269.
Ed has moved on into RS800 sailing as he wants to sail with his wife and has just purchased a tidy RS800 found at the boatshow. He will now only occasionally sail the 5K.
Mark Fittes has more time scheduled this year and we are planning to get atleast one Sunday sailing plus 2012 events, which is fantastic, as we sail really well together and we are confident that L5269 will be giving you guys a run for your money this year.
We are currently planning to join the training in April, Laser open May, Nationals June, and the inlands October.
Regarding the Europeans Mark is not available so currently crewless, plus I would not be able to join for the full week, what are the plans for the events, so I can see if I can get some of it covered, and will try and get a crew for these few days.
Desperate to get on the water, as have not sailed since November, either no crew, gale or no wind. Planning to sail with Alistair this Sunday, as no wind last week, or 3 weeks ago when he was available. Looking at the wind for the weekend, fantastic sat when cant sail, and little wind again on Sunday 9MPH, jinxed.
Any movement on the mast front?, as I am sure I will be looking soon, 4k just up from us broke theirs afew weeks ago at the trapeze points, and I suspect that alot of our boats will be suffering fatigue at this point.
Regards Paul L5269
