what is it for each species?

Ours is 1.3 swine
.4 lambs
.2 goats
1.5 beef

Rate of Gain from weigh-in to fair: Beef (weighed in 120 days before fair): 2.00 lbs min. ave. daily gain Sheep (weighed in 60 days before fair): 25 lbs....

How is this calculated? Do you use certified scales? How is it enforced? I guess I am just asking for more information. We just used minimum and maximum...

We used to use minimum and maximum weights. We took the maximum weight off the beef and lambs many years ago. This year we have no maximum weight for swine....

We use certified scales - we own them, and pay for the state dept. of ag to recertify them just before auction every year. We had the same problem with the...

I didn't answer the "enforcement" question, sorry... If an animal doesn't make weight or doesn't have the proper rate of gain it doesn't go to auction, period....
