Event Update From Rich - Additional Tactical Opportunity.
Good Morning Fellows,
This will be my last update before I
see you all at the event.
- First off, we have a very good supply
of pyro thanks to the effort of the Manchester Syndicate. I would like
to thank them for their efforts.
- We will have a great turnout and I
am looking forward to this! Michael Lyter had a bad accident yesterday
and may not be with us but I hope he can make it at
least to hang out. This will
still give us a turnout of 14-15. Well done chaps.
- We have a lot of work to do on Thursday
but it should be easy work - namely the firestep and some re-wiring. We
need to make a few ladders. For those of
you who have not seen it - THE
TRENCH LOOKS GREAT!!!!!!
- Beginning Friday morning it will be
ALL PLAY. We have all worked our butts off this year on the unit and it
is time to kick back. (I have done 3 extra work
weekends this year, Tom Boas
and Nathan have done 2 and many more of you have gotten to one or spent
a fair amount of time and treasure on the unit. It is
time for some down time - rumor
is we and the 5th AIF will be challenging the Guards to a soccer match
on Friday.
- Uniform for Friday evening is trousers
optional. Kilts on Saturday. BATTLE ORDER for your equipment for the entire
weekend.
- ADDITIONAL TACTICAL OPPORTUNITY.
We have been invited to Go Over the Top with the Guards on Saturday
Morning at 6:00 A.M. There are German participating in this scenario and
this is one of the most realistic times to go over. This means an early
wake-up, we would need to be ready to move by 5:30.
I will be participating in this to assist
them with safety but would like you all to consider this. PLEASE LET ME
KNOW!!!!
- We will sort out sections when we
get there and see who can do what.
- REMEMBER - there is limited room in
the bunker, please leave your phonographs, typewriters, etc. at home.
