Description

[ About ]

This Yahoo Group is dedicated to the research of everyday life during the years 1933 through 1945 in Germany and other countries that were part of the German Reich. It is designed for scholars, students, living historians, and others interested in the daily life during this time period.

This is not a group about politics or famous Nazi personalities. It is a group about the daily life of the average person living in the Third Reich: the kids in the Hitler Youth, the young workers in the factory, the old grandmother tending her gardens. Discussion topics of this group range from fashion to living situations, from education to the press, and from life in the Wehrmacht to shopping during wartime.

This group is a part of the BDM (League of German Girls) historical research site, and therefore, much of the subject matter discussed here has to do with the League of German Girls, the Hitler Youth in general, books and magazines related to them, uniforms and insignia, as well as re-enacting / living history of the two. But don't let that deter you from bringing up other subjects!

[ Group Rules ]

1. Civilized behavior is a must. We do not tolerate: name calling, personal attacks, anti-semitism, revisionism, spam, and rudeness.

2. Advertising is NOT allowed on this group. You may post a list of items you are selling personally - but no links to your eBay auctions and the like. Vendor reviews are welcome, however.

3. Absolutely NO politics! This includes: support for white supremacy groups, revisionism, neo-Nazis, or any political talk of any other kind, modern or past.

4. This is not a Nazi or uniform fetish group. If you're looking for fetish, look elsewhere.

5. Posts must be signed with your name - first name is okay - so we know who's talking to whom in message threads.
