Hello,
I wanted to let everyone know that the newest book in our Mastering Model
Railroading (How-To) series has arrived from the printer.
I know there are many that had been waiting for this book. It is the first
volume in our Scenery section of the series.
It is by Randy Meyer and shows how he makes all the mountains and rock work
on his layout. This is especially nice for those that visited his layout or
took his clinic when the NG Convention was here in St. Louis in September.
In the book Randy shows not only the basics but also shows the results of
the trial and error work he has done how some other methods can not be as
successful as the one he uses. He moves on to demonstrate many techniques
and great ideas that I had not ever seen myself.
Though Randy models Colorado, he mentions how to modify the steps necessary
for gray mountains and rocky areas found elsewhere all over the US. This way
you can produce anything from a rock outcropping - to correct looking cuts -
to rocky seashores & riverbanks - and naturally mountains. This is
especially cool for those modeling Quarries.
There are 44 pages of photos and drawings plus 8 more full color pages to
show the steps to get to the finished product for $19.99 + s&h.
It is the perfect size to fit on the layout as a handy reference while you
are using the skills he teaches in it.
