Description

A group for those modeling, or just interested in, the period between the start of WW I and 1940. The limits are not absolutes, just that there are established groups for the time periods before and after this one.

If you're interested in earlier period railroading as well, there's a group for that at:

Membership must be approved, but not messages. This works on my other lists.

All are welcome, but you must have a valid Yahoo ID, with more info than just your name. Responsible behavior is expected.

Accurail USRA hopper upgrades
I recently upgraded a few HO scale Accurail USRA hoppers. A couple of these cars came with as-built paint and lettering, so they were backdated with KD brake

One would imagine the brass hats would have found sitting by the boiler of the LS&MS inspection car-locomotive quite uncomfortable in the summer time. Regards,

Such combination inspection car-locomotives were not very common, nor were they uniform in size. Erie had one that wasn't too different, and there's one extant

Built in 1893 by Pittsburgh Locomotive Works as conventional 4-4-0 96, converted to Inspection engine 23 in 1908, and retired in 1925. John C. La Rue, Jr.
