Description

18cLife is a community of reenactors, living historians, research historians, historical writers, enthusiasts, and other persons interested in how people lived in the 18th century, and how we can relive the era by any means and to any degree, with respect to areas where the dominant culture was Western: primarily, the American colonies, Britain, and Europe. A few sample topics about 18th century life are daily lives, social relationships, education, life stages, material goods, legal affairs, and occupations.
A few sample topics about reenacting the 18th century include getting started, making clothes, shopping for reenacting goods, choosing an impression, reenacting in the third vs. first person, staging scenarios, performing research, announcements of events, workshops and seminars, “after action reports”, reenacting on the cheap, and “stitch counting”. All discussions are welcome that pertain to the 18th century and to reliving it.
