I would recommend:
http://www.homeschoolmath.net/
an excellent place to start. Math Mammoth on that site is inexpensive and
comprehensive. ... or just a Google search on "homeschool math game" will give
you a dozen options.
We purchased the book "What your (5th, 6th, ...) Grader Needs to Know" as an
outline of what to look for. It's around $13 on Amazon and can be much cheaper
on Amazon used.

You could also try www.mindsprinting.com for math and language.

I have not had the chance to really look at the site but try
onlinefreespanish.com for younger children and also try thehomeschoolmom.com for
lessons geared toward older children to adults. Hope this helps you:-)
Hi,
I did the same thing a couple weeks ago and found online a good place to start
is www.schoolexpress.com At least you will have something for him to do to keep
up right now. I know that you may not allow your son to go on the internet, but
there is also printables and workbooks on there for him. My son is in the 5th
grade and I researched this very carefully before I pulled him out. My other 3
children are jealous and want to be home schooled also. But my son at home has
ADHD and Aspergers Syndrome so this is better for him. He hasn't been doing
very much just yet because we have been so busy with farm work, but the new year
he will do a lot more work. Oklahoma does not require any specific subjects
that the students have to do and there is no state testing requirements. At
least I have not found anything yet. I found the statutes from years ago were
different from other states because we are a farming state and the pages I found
were updates just this past month. Our special ed. teacher had no idea that
there were no statutes concerning subject requirements.
I enrolled my son in a home school class online. All the books and things are
sent to you free of charge and it is totally free. The child can go online to
do the school work anytime throughout the day and it is supposed to take about 6
hours to complete, but only 30 % is all on computer. The rest is on hands in
books and on paper. Check it out. I was told that the registration for this
next school year was over on April 1 and that was the day I enrolled. I don't
know if there is an extension or not. But it is worth checking out, at least
for the following year. If it turns out good, I will have all 4 children
homeschooled through them.
I googled it and this is the link that came up.

Check it out and see what it is like for your state.
Let me know how it goes and if you need help with anything, let me know. I like
to help others when I can.
God Bless!!!

Hello.
I suspect many of you are familiar with Curriki
<http://www.curriki.org/> --an online education community of teachers,
students and other education stakeholders committed to using and sharing
free, open-source K-12 instructional materials with others around the
globe.
This summer, Curriki is sponsoring its annual "Summer of Content"
initiative. This is an opportunity for teachers to share their own
curricula units online with a Curriki audience of several hundred
thousand educators.
Select applicants will receive a stipend for their work and with have
their content featured on the homepage of Curriki. To learn more, click
here <http://www.curriki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/SummerofContent> .
I suspect many of you have wonderful lessons that the world would love
to see or at least know other teachers that might be interested in
earning a bit of cash over the summer while contributing to a good
cause! Regardless, feel free to look at the site
<https://www.curriki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/JoinCurriki> as it has
nearly 25,000 lessons and learning objects that are 100% open source and
free!
Thanks.

Here are a couple that I have that might help you out.
Learning Planet
http://www.learningplanet.com/
This is a great website full of different learning material for kids of all
ages. There is an optional "membership" that does cost money. If you don't buy
the membership, you don't have access to everything on the website, but I still
found it quite useful.
FreelyEducate
http://www.freelyeducate.com/
This is an awesome website that has a daily newsletter that I highly reccomend.
The name says it all, they are a group of homeschoolers who are trying to
educate their children using as little money as possible. They have some great
lists of free or nearly free websites.
Hope these help! Sorry it took me so long to respond to your request, I just
got my computer back from the manufacturer, it had some problems that, thank
goodness, were covered under warrenty.
God bless you!

Fresca,
Thanks for this great resource! I may not be able to get her a diploma from an
accredited school this way, but it is a great place to start .
God bless you!
Lori
A friend asked me for some resources that would assist her daughter in
understanding contractions. My kids are all older and grown and many
of my saved source links have died out! Anyone have any they want to
share??
Thanks,

OPTICAL
http://www.zennioptical.com/cart/home.php
I know this is a resource for FREE HS information but I think this is a
great site to order glasses especially if your kids wear glasses
for as little at $8.00 [the
price goes up so do the options and quality] you can get prescription
glasses. With kids its good to have an extra pair just incase or get
sunglasses for about $5.00 more.
Shipping is about $6.00 no matter how many pair you order.
I ordering sunglasses have't recived mine.
I hope this help some one save.

In addition to all that Oom said, here is the link for a free k-12
curriculum:
http://oldfashionededucation.com/
If you click "full curriculum" on the right, there is a schedule you could
use if you wanted to. The only drawback is that, if you don't want to read
the books online, you have to print them, buy them or borrow from a library.
Most of us do some sort of combination.

The problem is that, by law, in most states a public cyber school isn't even
homeschool anymore (even it happens at home.) You become subject to all the laws
of the public school system. It is closer to having a child on homebound
instruction than it is to real homeschoolers. Some states do require schools to
loan books to actual, independent homeschoolers, and all states give away a lot
of books or sell them very cheaply. Please give a lot of thought before you give
up your independence, as there may be other options.
What ages are your kids, and what levels are they at? Have you checked local
thrift shops? I routinely find wonderful things there for just a few dollars,
including workbooks that only have a few pages done.

Check with your state's department of education. In Utah, they have an online
high school that does not cost anything. The student just has to be a resident
of the state. Also, check to see if they offer an adult high school. The tuition
is very low (again in Utah) and a lot more flexible for struggling people.
